It was partly named after the popular and fruity gelato parent, though its name is also in part due to its extremely frosty exterior, coated with thick white crystal trichomes. It is known for its insanely delicious flavours and powerful effects that are fueled by THC levels that have been tested to reach as high as 30% concentration! These other variations include Jungle Boys’ version that uses a Mike Larry and Gelato 45 cross, and Growers Choice Seeds which use Brain Damage and Sherbinski Gelato. The Brain Damage and Gelato 45 parent strains are both indica dominant hybrids with the latter being a member of the Cookies family and a descendent of the infamous Girl Scout Cookies!

Appearance & Aroma

The nuggets of Frosty Gelato are large and oversized with a rounded but tipped shape similar to a spade. They’re a dark olive green with deep purple undertones, and its pistils are a fiery reddish orange. These colours are all shrouded in white as the strain is prone to thick coverings of crystal trichomes which lends to its name, giving them a luxurious sparkle and sheen! While it does have a bit of spice and pungent skunkiness to it scent, there are also fresh and sweetly aromas of woody earth, herbs, lavender, citrus and berries. These work perfectly to complement its flavours of sour, zesty citrus oranges and sweet blueberries. Some note that it can have a bit of a cakey flavour as well!
